He was predeceased by: his parents, Leary Ewell Johnson and Willie Elizabeth Ann Story; his siblings, Howard Denton Johnson, Larry Johnson and Maxola Beck; and his wife Joan Marie Pate.
He is survived by: his sister Kaye Johnson; his children, Larry (Becky Johnson), Debbie (Danny Seibel) and Angie (Jason Paul); his grandchildren, Brandice Johnson, Martha Johnson, Zack Johnson, Shae Johnson, Douglas (Timmi Ezell), Dustin Ezell, Baylee (Taylor Adkins), Logan Clark and Pateyn Clark; and his great grandchildren, Aiden, Jaydee and Averee. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and relatives.
