He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillard Atchley Sanders and Ruby Lois Owens Sanders; his wife Doris Louise Day; and his siblings, Morris Overton, Donald Sanders, Dixie Bond and Gloria Brewer.
He is survived by: his son Verlin Keith Sanders; his grandson Clayton Scott Sanders; his great grandchildren, Anya Sanders, Dhamon Scott Sanders and Kyndal Rayne Sanders; and his siblings, Gene Sanders (Star), Wanda Thorpe, Patricia Rogers and Barbara Stubbs.
