He was predeceased by: his parents, William Tallent and Vera Tallent; his wife Mickie Tallent; his daughter Patricia Young; and his sisters, Lurlene, Doris, Jean, Jewel and Ruth.

He is survived by: his son Douglas; his daughter-in-law Joanna Tallent of Yukon; his grandchildren, Kathryn Nichols of Lawton and Bryan Young (Laci Young) of Lawton; his great grandchildren, Nicholas Young, Bradley Young, Jackson Nichols, Aidan Booker, Keagan Booker, Brooklyn Young and Peyton Young of Lawton; and his brother Loyd Tallent of New Palestine Indiana. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Donations may be made in Walter's name to the Parkinson's Foundation and Saint Andrews Episcopal Church.
