She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover Cleveland Ford II and Virginia Cox Ford; her husband Hiram Akers; her son Michael Akers; and her brothers, Grover Ford and Roger Ford.
She is survived by: her children, Tammy Roman (Ricardo), Vincent Akers, April Sterling and Valarie Akers; her grandchildren, Jose Roman (Tisha), Jesse Akers (Trinity), Amando Roman (Alvie), Brianna Schaar (Russ), Cory Akers, Zachary Akers (Kristina), Emily Akers and Carlee Akers; her great grandchildren, Audrey, Hayden, Rae'Nathen, Prince and Jaxon; and her siblings, Joyce Phillips, Gary Ford and Brenda McGuyer. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel (1502 NW Fort Sill Blvd, Lawton, OK 73507). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
