He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Richard Burks Jr. and Velma Petty Burks; his brother Chris Burks; and his grandparents, Leon, Elnora Burks, Roosevelt and Elma Petty.

He is survived by: his siblings, Leon Burks III of Missouri, Pamela Jefferson (Greg) of Lawton and Tammar Williams of Lawton, Oklahoma..
