It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vesta June Snelson in Lawton, Oklahoma, born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, who passed away on May 4, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James W. Carter, Jr. and Iona Gail Carter (Shroyer); her husband William John "Bill" Snelson, Sr.; her grandson Jonathan Bryan Chism; and her sister Ann Lee Carter.
She is survived by: her daughters, Elizabeth Ann Chism of Prairieville and Carol June Snelson of Mesquite; and her sister Virginia Louise Winn (Warren Robert Winn) of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren.
