Veda Hawkey Obituary

The memory of Veda Hawkey of Lawton, Oklahoma, born in Kinmundy, Illinois, who passed away on November 12, 2024 at the age of 94, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Potter and Mary Evalena Potter (Crutchfield); her husband Lewis Hawkey; her son Darrel Hawkey; her grandchildren, Errol Hawkey and Jani Hawkey; her son-in-law Franklin Powell; and her siblings, Tom Potter, Leonard Potter, Eugene Potter, Zola Slane, Viola Potter, Athia Potter and Anna Margaret Schneider.

She is survived by: her children, Alan Hawkey, DJ Powell, Janet (Tim Stephens), Kevin (Kristina Hawkey) and Gina Hawkey; her grandchildren, Jody (John Purcell), Crystal (John Childers), Clint (Sherry Powell), Keith (Rachel Powell), Trent (Chelsea Powell) and Sara (Brady Payan); her great grandchildren, Jacob Daniels, Parker, Kaitlyn Childers, Violet, Callan, Palmer Purcell, Easton, Olivia, Blair and Lila Powell; and her sisters-in-law, Irene Potter and Bobbie Hawkey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other loving relatives.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Letitia Cemetery.
