She was predeceased by: her parents, Makiji Maekawa and Yoshino Maekawa; her husband Alton L. Sanderson; and her brothers, Minoru, Yasuo, Hiroshi, Tadao and Takashi Maekawa.

She is survived by: her daughter Sherrie Graves Underwood; and her brothers, Shiyunji Maekawa of Japan and Tatsumi Maekawa of Japan.
