He was predeceased by: his parents, Oleta Idell (Rice) and Victor Stanley Gowen, Jr.; his wife Cathy Gowen; his daughter Leann Gowen; his grandchild Genna Reed; and his nephew Victor Brown.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Gwen Love Davis; his children, Michael Reed (Crystal), Kayla Wilson, Stanley Louis Gowen, Randell Allen Gowen and Donald Gowen; his stepchildren, John Hall (Anissa), Tonja Reidy (Martin), Cathy Jeanis (Jason), Sonja Smith Davis, Jeffery Smith and Jeremy Smith; and his sister Rita Gowen. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces.
He went on to become a security guard at the mall, which ultimately ended because of COVID-19.
