She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Obitz and Sam Obitz; her husband B. G. Jim Cannon; and her son Mike Cannon. She is survived by: her son Mark; and her friends, Dennis O'Keefe and Gene Bland.
In 1982, The Governor Arts Award was presented to her for Community Service by Governor George Nigh and the Chamber of Commerce honored her with the Wayne Galley Award for "Contributions to Tourism" in 2002.
