He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Tate and Leora Tate; his siblings, Paul, Don Tate and Paula Franklin; and his in-laws, Herman Sr. and Bernie Lenhardt.

He is survived by: his wife Meta; his daughter Mikal (Quinton Tews); his niece Megan (Kent); and also Makenzie Veldhuizen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.

Donations can be made to the St. Ann's Cemetery Fund.
