With solemn reverence, we commemorate LaVela R. Underwood (Lawton, Oklahoma), whose life came to an end on January 4, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving behind cherished memories. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Lee and Edith Stafford (Howeth); her husband Fred B. Underwood; and her sister VanZell Rodgers of Georgia. She is survived by: her children, Ken Shagun of Lawton, Oklahoma and Georgia Wood of Fort Worth, Texas; her grandchildren, Kyle Moore, Kasey Moore, Destiny Wood, Savannah Bowen and Wyatt Wood; her stepson Freddie Underwood of Ninnekah; and her grandchildren, Jason Underwood, Sarah Underwood and Jade Underwood. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home (1502 NW Fort Sill Blvd, Lawton, OK 73507). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lighthouse Church of God (800 NW Rogers Ln, Lawton, OK 73507).
