With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joretta Serrena Rodgers of Lawton, Oklahoma, born in Bishopville, South Carolina, who passed away on January 16, 2022 at the age of 71. She was predeceased by: her parents, Junior Patterson and Ruby Lee Patterson (McCollough); her husband James Rodgers; and her siblings, Freddie Patterson, Evette Patterson and Thomas Patterson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon, Jerry Burks, Sr. of Lawton, OK and Denise Johnson of Lamar, SC; her siblings, Deloris (Otis McDaniels), Corine (Larry McCollough), James (Mannlyn Patterson), Howard (Elizabeth Patterson), Henry (Charlotte Patterson) and Leroy (Martha Patterson); her grandchildren, Zytia Miller (Lester) of Lawton, OK, Michael Quintel Abson and TiQuesha Johnson of Lamar; her great grandchildren, Michael McFadden, Jr. of Lamar, Jordan Brown of Lamar, Messiah Rouse of Lamar and Logan Abson-Miller of Lawton, OK; and her niece Latonya Knotts (Phillip) of Lamar. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
