He was predeceased by: his daughter Carledna McNair; his parents, Edward Patterson and Estella Patterson; and his siblings, Sylvester, Carolyn and Isaac.
He is survived by: his wife Iris Patterson; his sons, Everett Bradford, John Patterson, Jr. (Karen) and Christopher Patterson (Donna); his grandchildren, Jarrod McCowan, Brandon McCowan, Damien Patterson, Jake Patterson, Gabrielle Patterson and Olivia Patterson; his great grandchildren, Jescia McCowan, Izaiah McCowan, Kiarah McCowan and Malachi McCowan; his great great grandchild Kaleb Butler; and his sisters, Carrie Parks and Helen Pipkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
