He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Powell and Goldie Powell; and his wife Lavada Mae Powell. He is survived by: his son Shawn; his daughter-in-law Keri Powell of Midwest City; his granddaughter Bailey Stevens (Ronald) of Choctaw, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Robert Charles Powell (Bobbie) of Lawton and Alice Sampson of Lawton, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
