He was predeceased by: his daughter Maxine McCoy of Omaha, Texas. He is survived by: his wife Viola Cramer; his children, Alicia and Johnny of Cleveland, OK.; and his stepchildren, Patty Torres of Norman, Tammy Sims of Lawton and Tommy Sims of Lawton Ok.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in John's name to the American Cancer Society, The Shriners Children's Hospital or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
