He was predeceased by: his parents, James Slavin and Dellie Rosella Slavin (Ott); his wife Claudine Pumphrey; his child Kelly Slavin; and his siblings, Joe Slavin, George Slavin, Robert Slavin, John Myers, Roy L. Slavin, Thomas Slavin, William Slavin, Frank Slavin and Teresa Reed.

He is survived by: his son Michael Slavin (Cissy) of Lawton; and his sister Alice Killian. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
