He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Ruth Brackeen of Roswell; his parents, Leroy "Roy" Athol Barbe and Obie V. Elliott Barbe; his siblings, Leroy Barbe, Worley Barbe, Paul Barbe, Pearl Barbe Taylor, Georgie Barbe Kraemer, Margaret Barbe Copeland and Pencie Ruth Barbe Brookshier; and his daughter-in-law Leticia "Letty" Moncivais Barbe.
He is survived by: his friend Jerry Cleat Duncan; his children, Kaylene Barbe of Shawnee, Oklahoma, J. Cleat Barbe, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas and Roy W. Barbe of Port Mansfield, Texas; his grandson Roy A. Barbe of Port Mansfield, Texas; and his brothers-in-law, Larry James of Boerne and Dr. Russell Brookshier of Hanford, California. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and cousins.
