He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Arlanda McDaniel and Ora Irene McDaniel (Jay); and his sisters, Karen McDaniel, Sharon Mathis and Loretta Busby.
He is survived by: his brother Purcell; his children, Debby Mahan of Lexington, Courtney Hicks of Elfmore, KS, J. L. McDaniel Jr. of Lawton and Tommy McDaniel; and his sister Rosie Tibbs of Lawton, OK. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
