He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Coy Vincent and Elsie Lee Akers; his children, Valerie Akers, Tammy Roman (Ricardo), April Sterling (David) and Vincent Akers (Wendy); his siblings, Vincent, Jack, Maurnita, Sue, Jean, Freddie, Bobbie, Dean and Donna; his sons, Ronald Akers and Michael William Akers; and his sister Rita. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
