He was predeceased by: his parents, William McSwain and Lois McSwain (Rankins); his uncle Louis Rankins; his sister Gail Wilson; and his niece Shannon LeDay Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Jenny McSwain (Thompson); his children, Denzil McSwain and Mariah McSwain; his aunt Gladys Williams of Apple Valley, California; his siblings, Kathleen LeDay (Adam) and Claude Davis (Priscilla); and his parents-in-law, Mary Hawley, RoyLee Johnson, Johnny Hunter, Garye Thompson and Joe Thompson. He is also survived by other great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in laws and other relatives and friends.
