He is survived by: his wife Barbara Newton; his daughter Dr. Felicia Haecker; his son-in-law Dr. Vince Haecker of Sacramento, CA; his son RaJohn "RJ" Newton of Sacramento, CA; his siblings, John L. Newton, Jr. (Beulah), David (Mary Newton), Samuel (Assettou Newton), Calvin (Thelma Newton), Virginia Christine (Benny Simmons), Annie Ruth Hickey and Callie Mae (Edward Simmons); and his grandchildren, Haydyn Haecker and Vinson Haecker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
