He was predeceased by: his parents, Luis A. Sr. Fernandez and Virginia Fernandez (Marcano); his children, Marina Fernandez, Jaime R. Fernandez and Luis A. Fernandez, III; and his siblings, Mary Fernandez, Marcus Marcano and Castro Marcano.
He is survived by: his spouse Martha-Luz Jordan; his children, Gisela A. Fernandez, Walkidia A. (Paul R. Gomez, Jr.), Rey A. Fernandez (Jerry Deas), Omar A. Fernandez, Concesa A. (Michael Cockrell), Ellis (Teresa Fernandez) and David (Kim Fernandez); his sisters, Mary Maria McBride of Camden and Julia Sawyer of Camden; and his stepsons, Anthony D. Jordan (Christa Eberline) and Bruce E. Jordan. He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren and more than thirty great grandchildren.
