He was predeceased by: his parents, Buster Wilson and Dorothy D. Melton (Stafford); his wife Mary Francis Melton (Kennard); his children, Vikki Upton (Poolaw) and Billy Melton; and his brothers, Donald and Gary Melton (Butch).
He is survived by: his close friend Joe Bob Craig; his children, April Bain (Donnie) and Timothy Melton (Royalin); his grandchildren, Brandi Poolaw, Billy Poolaw II, Austin Bain (Ashley), Buck Melton (Kristin), Cody Melton (Lacee), Kirk Melton (Jeramy Krone), Collin Melton (Frances) and Brett Bain (Whitney); his children-in-law, Randy Upton and Angela Melton; his sister Judy Davis; and his friend Linda. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
