He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Shoemate and Gertrude Shoemate (Ticeahkie); his parents-in-law, Harry H. and Dessie Russell; his son Russell Shoemate; his brother Jimmy Shoemate; his nephew Shane Elkins; and his brother-in-law Max Elkins.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Shoemate; his children, Jay Shoemate (Carolann Rodriguez), Kevin (Linda Newsom) and Ashley (Cole Mallett); his grandchildren, Christian Shoemate, Mathis Newsom, Reece Mallett and Riley Mallett; his great grandchild Emilia Newsom; his brother Jack Shoemate; his sister-in-law Florence Elkins; his niece Lisa Kiefer; his great-nephew Ryan Nix; and his close friends, Pat, Gary Chambers and Rhonda Rock. He is also survived by his loving family, friends.
