He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver V Snethen and Lois Neeland Snethen; his brothers, Barry and Leon Snethen; and his nephew Kirk Snethen.
He is survived by: his wife Joy Mary Mikesell; and his children, Walter Snethen (Cissy) of Paris, Justine Wilson of Ponca City, Vernon Snethen (Valerie) of Enid and Ryan Snethen of Enid, Oklahoma.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the Boy Scouts of America with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
