We bid farewell to Mahonta Jo Burgess (Konawa, Oklahoma), born in Ada, Oklahoma, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 30, 2024 at the age of 94. Mahonta Jo touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. As we bid Mahonta Jo farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Mahonta Jo is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Burgess and Amanda Burgess (Wood); her husband John Miller; and her brother Gene Burgess. She is survived by: her children, Dale Lee Webb (Rita) of Ruidoso, NM, Jo Ellen Thart of Norman, Lisa Mann of Houston, TX, Jon "Rusty" Miller of Jenks, Vincent K Miller of Tulsa, Tracy Miller of Tulsa, Sherry Tarbell (Bob) of Nedrow, NY and Jason Miller (Julie) of Tulsa; and her sister Nancy Jones of Ada. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, many great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the High Springs Indian Baptist Church.
