He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Franklin Bell and Oddie Mae Cottrell Sage; his half-brother Troy Melton; and his granddaughter Erica Woods. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Kay Bell; his daughters, Carrie Turner, Karman McKinlay and Lisa Powers; his grandchildren, Travis Masters, Shawn Masters, Dylan Byers, Nathan McKinlay and Kasey Swartz; his great grandchildren, Talia, Tylan and Matreya Masters; and his sister Nasmi Faulkenburry.
