He is survived by: his wife Jeannette Spurgeon (Newberry); his siblings, Sonny and Jessie; and his children, Monica Montgomery (Ken), Richard Marcotte, Alisha Marcotte and Jay Gilmore (Ashton). He is also survived by five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
