He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gus Willy and Florence Duwel (Duff); his wife Lucy; his children, Terri Lynn Paul of Claremore, Tammi Duwel of Pryor, Terri Lee Stanley (Fred) of Vinita, Joey Duwel of Corona and Paul Duwel Jr of Vinita; and his brother Gus Duane Duwel (Barbara) of Vinita. He was also cherished by ten grandchildren and over a dozen great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
