He was predeceased by: his parents, Eunice Bessie Whitmire (Lawson) and Ernest Whitmire; his siblings, Joseph, Junior, R. L., Juanita and Mary; and his siblings-in-law, Kenneth, Bill, Wanda Sue, Arleeta and Grace.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Reynolds; his children, James Wayne Whitmire (Kellie) of Cameron, David Whitmire (Becky Daniels), William Bryant Whitmire (Oscar Ortiz) of San Antonio and Niecie Strong (Russell) of Ft. Worth; his grandchildren, Justin Whitmire (Nellie), Krystle Cox, Kindall Freeman (Justin), Jared Whitmire, Kayla Whitmire, Tanner Whitmire, Russell Strong (Callie), Ryle Strong (Paige) and Angel Vielma; and his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Reba, Brooks, Paxton, Kaden, Kyla, Westin, Peyton, Reed and Raelynn.
