He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Alvin and Zella Mae Dawes (Gatewood); his siblings, Charles, Juanita, Wanda and Imogene; and his nieces and nephews, Susan Dawes and Sheree Taft.
He is survived by: his significant other Glenda; his close friend Glenda Smedley; his children, Shelley Morton (Gene), Shaun Dawes and Shannon Ledford (Michael); and his grandchildren, Nicholas Hembree, Andrea Hembree, Skyler Cooper, Amanda Jones, Shelsey Dawes, Hannah Ledford, Hayley Ledford, Hayden Ledford, Hudson Ledford, Kaylee Smedley, Brogan Smedley and Landon Smedley.
