He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Shell and Nellie Shell (Seabolt); his wife Katie Shell of Jay, OK; and his siblings, Pauline Laughter, Madilyn Reynolds, Lorene Ross, Richard Sanders and Freeman Shell.
He is survived by: his children, Mindy Porter (Greg) of Claremore, OK, Allison Conaway (Sean) of Broken Arrow, OK, Kattrina Loy (Mike) of Jay, OK, Polly Allen (Greg), Adam Shell (Amanda) of Broken Arrow, OK and George Proctor (Tammy) of Jay, OK; his siblings, Stanley (Nadine Shell), Mary Lou Vann of Bunch, OK, Larry (Ruby Jackson), Sam Shell of Bunch, OK, Joyce Green of Tahlequah, OK, Charlie (Doris Shell) and Clifford (Nellie Queton); and his sister-in-law Darlene Shell. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
A wake was held on Monday, October 7th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services (311 W Gray St, Jay, OK 74346). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, October 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sycamore Springs Baptist Church (17377 E 425 Rd, Jay, OK 74346).
