Robert Dale Sharp Obituary
Robert Dale Sharp, 60, our dear brother Robert Sharp went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:42pm in Jay, Oklahoma. He was born on January 3, 1962 to his parents, Max Sharp, Jr. and Betty (Wolfe) Sharp.
Robert was born in Jay, OK where he stayed and made his home. He loved the outdoors. Spending most of his time outside. During the Summer months, he loved picking wild onions and blackberries. That's how he made his money. During the fall he would go out and look for Wishi or mushrooms, and he would go pick hickory nuts to make his Kanuchi balls. Robert was a true Indian. He lived off the land and made do. He was a quiet man. He never had much to say, but I'm sure thousands of thoughts ran thru his head. And Robert made friends everywhere he went. He would love going to the creeks and having a few drinks of his KD (Kentuck Deluxe), then after a while he would put his brown felt hat on, then everyone knew he was feeling alright. Then he would talk to EVERYONE there and enjoy himself. Later on, he could be at some place and guys would say "Hey Robert" then he would say "Hi" back, not a clue to who they were. Just someone he probably met at the creek. Robert's life on Earth was a pretty good one, with all the friends and family he always had around him. Robert was a fun person to be around. Teaching the younger kids how to fish, hunt and survive. Robert never owned a car, (just walked) most of the time. But he always got to the place he was going. Like it was no big deal to walk from Jay to Grove to go see mama. Rob was a mama's boy. He respected her so much, when he would get too loud or rowdy around mama, all she had to say was, "alright Robert, that's enough now!". Then Rob would sound like a little kid and say, "I'm sorry mama, I'll be quiet.". Then he would straighten up because he knew that if he didn't, mama might beat him up. Robert will surely be missed by so many that knew and loved him, and our lives will change without Rob in it. Rest in peace brother, we love you.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Max Sharp, Jr. and Betty Sharp; 4 brothers, Billy Jack Crawford, Mikey "Joe" Sharp, Lee Edward Sharp and Donny Ray Swake; his sister, Lucinda Marie Sharp; and his life girlfriend, Janice Lay.
He leaves behind two children, Robert Aaron Sharp and Lelani Sheree Sharp both of Colorado, OK; brother, Charles Sharp of Grove, OK; 3 sisters, Mary Wolfe of Salina, OK, Margie Eglain of Salina, OK and Connie Sharp of Galena, KS; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
