He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew David and Rachel Thelma Messimore Jackson; his wife Roberta Tanner; his son John "Bo" Jackson; his siblings, Andrew Jackson and Anita Reid; and his friend Charlotte Jackson Bowden.

He is survived by: his children, Andrew Leonard "Butch" Jackson and Karen "Peaches" Hicks Jackson; his granddaughters, Felicia, Emma and Gracie Jackson; his great grandchildren, Brenden, Brandon and Xander Bo Overton; his sons, Rick Welch, Shane Lasley, Roger Tanner and Chad Nutt; his siblings, Alvin Jackson (Mary Ellen), Mike Jackson (Linda), Jodie Jackson (Marie), Bruce Jackson (Debbie), Violet Pettegrew (Chuck) and Deb Jackson; and his aunt Lois Jackson.

He would like donations to be made to the "DAV" Disabled American Veterans.
