She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilson "Doc" Wake and Helen Wake (Dyer). She is survived by: her brother Phillip "Phil" Wake; her daughter Paige; her son-in-law Tye Bussell; her daughters, Tiffany Scarborough and Heather; her son-in-law John Travis; her grandchildren, Braydee Bussell, Kellan Bussell, Bradley Scarborough (Summer Scarborough), Blake Scarborough and Brandon Scarborough (Santana Scarborough); her great grandchild Beckham Scarborough; her nephew Toby Wake; her niece Amye Wake; her friends, Kenneth, Linda Reich, Karen Ray, John, Pat Malin, Glynda Pollard, Shaye Jones Brown, Justin Smith, Kelvin Johnson, Mark Hall and Shane Capps; and her favorite student Shannon Daves.
Nellie Jo loved her students and they brought her great joy so in lieu of flowers, donations to the Nellie Jo Powell Scholarship Fund at Idabel National Bank would be preferred and appreciated.
