It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josie Bates of Idabel, Oklahoma, born in Haworth, Oklahoma, who passed away on December 11, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kit Wright and Julia Hudgins Wright; her husband Rev. Chuck Bates; her son Rev. Sam Bates; her brothers, Ed Wright and Ollie Wright; her nephews, Jerry Wright, Jr. and Johnny Trim; and her sister Clara Wright.
She is survived by: her children, Rev. Ronnie Bates of Redland, OK, Rev. Mike (Debbie Bates), Linda (Lester Clowers), Glenda Bates of Idabel, OK and Paul (Tammy Bates); her daughter-in-law Joy Bates of Tulsa, OK; her grandchildren, Jenny Bates, Jessica Bates, Joseph Bates, Lacey Bates, Chantry (Anna Bates), Joshua (Kaysee Clowers), Rebekah Clowers, Chance, Ami Parker, Chris Bates, Zachary Bates, Holly, Johnathan Splawn, Brooke Bates, Caitlyn and Justice Leathers; and her great grandchildren, Devin Bates, Isaac Bates, Wyatt Bates, Cruz Bates, Ruger Bates, Bear Bates, Maudie Bates, Grace Thames, Alivia Parker and Paisley Parker. She is also survived by other relatives, many friends.
