She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Robert Elmer Stroud and Verna Stroud (Loven); her brother Beauford Stroud; her significant other Don Leatherwood; her sons, Rickey Leatherwood (Jean) of Kansas City, Robert Leatherwood of Idabel and Roger Leatherwood (Shannon) of Graham; and her grandchildren, Misty Newsome (Martin), Shane Martin, Ben Martin, Austin Leatherwood and Dayton Leatherwood. She was also cherished by ten great-grandchildren.
