It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Berneta Herbel (Hooker, Oklahoma), who passed away on January 8, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Welch and Berniece Welch (Hodges); her husband George Herbel; her son George Gavin; her brother Steve Welch; and her son-in-law John Mercer.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Dick Herbel (Pensie) of Liberal, Damon Herbel (Debby) of Poolville, TX and Rhonda Mercer of Plains; and her grandchildren, Brian, Jenifer, Leslie Herbel, Joshua, Nicholas Mercer, Elizabeth Carriger, Amanda Bringham, Turah Shaver and Joe Herbel. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
