He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Howard Powell and Lena Powell; his children, Larry Powell and Diana Gregory; and his sisters, Patricia Chapman and Minnie Powell.
He is survived by: his children, Clinton Powell (Rebecca), Jo Ann Pitts (Kenny) and Lafaun Owens. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
