He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Cox and Irene Cox (Parish); his wife Barbara Ann Pitts; and his sisters, Willa Mae Cox and Betty Smith.

He is survived by: his sons, Gary Cox (Vickie) of Hominy and Chris Cox of Hominy; his siblings, Bob Cox (Tina) of Hominy, Ann Willhite of Skiatook and Malinda Ford of Broken Arrow; his stepgranddaughters, Jessica Kriege (Ricky) of Skiatook and Kellie Spicer (John) of Pawhuska; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Holden Kreige, Rubie Spicer and Hazel Jo Kreige.
