Donnie J. Bailey Obituary
Donnie Bailey, resident of Holdenville, Oklahoma, passed away February 12, 2023 in Oklahoma City surrounded by family and friends at the age of 76.
He was born July 20, 1946 in Jacksonville, Texas to R.L. and Minnie Bailey. Donnie grew up in Maud, Oklahoma and attended Maud Public Schools. He played football in high school and graduated in 1964. After graduating high school, Donnie enlisted in the US Army having served in Berlin, Germany from 1966 to 1969. He received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle), Marksman (Rifle) and the Army of Occupation Medal (Berlin). After he received his honorable discharge, Donnie went to work in the greater area oilfields alongside his father and brother. He retired from Schlacter Oil Company in 1996. Donnie had a passion for shooting pool having won many tournaments throughout the years. He was still shooting pool weekly until he fell ill. If he wasn't shooting pool, he was playing poker with close friends. Donnie enjoyed his fast car and his Harley. He loved living life and always had a smile on his face. His family and grandkids were what he lived for and they suffered a great loss.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, R.L. and Minnie Bailey; two brothers-in-law, Falous Arnold and Roger Watkins; sister-in-law, Martha Bailey and a son-in-law, Rex Ginn.
Survivors of the home include youngest daughter, Lindsey Donn Bailey and two grandkids, Tazz Kreed and En'Vee Donn. He is also survived by daughters, Karrie Zito and husband Rocky and Kristi Rawls and husband Steve; grandkids, Lakin Henley, Dax Henley, Keisha Wolf, Alyssa Decker, Kenny Hernandez, Eric Powell and Britni Ginn; great-grandkids, Maverick, Si'aiko, Malcolm, Lyric, Liberty, Swayze, Bryar, Genesis and Journee; two sisters, Anabel Arnold and Connie Watkins; one brother, Bobby Bailey and wife Nina; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks.
Arrangements are under the direction of OK Cremation & Funeral Home of Oklahoma City.
