He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ed and Ora Lee Cathey (Cook); his daughter Annette King; and his niece Janet Cathey. He is survived by: his wife Gayla Noreen Walker Harris; his mother-in-law Golden Ruth Skinner Walker; his brother Johnny Ray Cathey; his grandson Tarrant King (Andrea); his great grandchild Laila; his son-in-law David King; his cousins, Patricia Bess Pool and Vicki Bess Bowman; and his aunt Betty Cathey Bogie.
