With profound sadness, we say goodbye to David Lynn Shields of Gotebo, Oklahoma, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. David Lynn left this world on January 24, 2025 at the age of 72, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Shields and Alene Patterson Shields (Thirza Shields); and his siblings, Jerry Shields and Pat Whitener. He is survived by: his spouse Thirza Ann Walters; his children, Chris Shields (Dena), Cordell, Mindy Dooley (Michael) of Gotebo, OK and Ryan Shields (Tabitha) of Gotebo, OK.; his grandchildren, Jamie Phipps, Kira Hoefar, Britton Shields, Morgan Dooley and Hayes Dooley; and his great grandchildren, Harper Phipps and Sawyer White.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ray & Martha's Funeral Home (306 W 11th St, Hobart, OK 73651). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sharon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers an account has been set up at Banc First in Hobart, OK. Donations can be made in David's honor to benefit the Mountain View-Gotebo FFA/4H program.
