She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Brumfield and Ada Brumfield (Shockley); her husband Bardine Carlton; her brother James Brumfield; and her son-in-law David Black.
She is survived by: her daughters, Claudia Black of Broken Arrow, BernaDean Barrick of Henryetta and Letha Carlton of Tulsa; her grandchildren, Pryce Black (Ashley), Kimberlie Carver (James), Rebekah Scherman (Cody), Jeremiah Barrick (Felicia) and Sharise Smock (EJ); her great grandchildren, Austin Black, Madeleine Black, Ainsley Black, Camille Black, Harley Munholland, Cooper Scherman, Jayla Nye, Jeremiah Nye, Jett Barrick, Abraham Smock, Samuel Smock and Sophia Smock; and her great great grandchild Sybil Black. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her two oldest daughters remember going to sleep to the sound of hammering as their mom and dad built their own house from the foundation up.
