He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Thompson and Violet Thompson (Pekrul); and his wife Rose. He is survived by: his sons, Robbie Thompson (Monica) and Alan Thompson (Joyce); his grandchildren, Joshua Thompson, Rebecca Thompson and Adam Thompson; and his siblings, Larry Thompson (Kathy) and Judy Bemis (Lanny).
