She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell D. "Ike" Franklin and R. Lorraine Franklin; and her brother John Franklin. She is survived by: her husband Dr. C. Joseph Hitt; her daughter Jessica; her son-in-law Trent Morris; her sister-in-law Jan Franklin; her nieces, Allison Oestreich (Tom) and Jennifer Gribble (Will); and her great-nephew Collin Oestreich.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Julia's name to the Oklahoma State University College of Education and Human Sciences Educating Forward Scholarship fund.
