We are sad to announce that on September 28, 2023, at the age of 90, Velma B. Tapken of Haskell, Oklahoma, born in Yakima, Washington passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Henry Shelton and Opal Shelton (Doud); her husband George D. Tapken; her daughter Beverly Rush; her granddaughter Teresa Hatten; and her great grandchild Christian Fulke.
She is survived by: her children, Frank Payton of Haskell, Debra Weaver of Haskell, Nadine Jaquin of Texas, Ruth Blasengym of Haskell, June Newman of Oregon, Lois Jasmer- of Washington, Syndi Kantler of Washington and Randy Renner of Washington. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives, church family and long-time friends.
