With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leroy Eules Higginbotham (Haskell, Oklahoma), who passed away on August 26, 2022 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, J. H. Higginbotham and Gussie Matilda Higginbotham (Sharp); his sister Lenora Morsund (John); and his siblings-in-law, Barbara and Tommy Clinton.

He is survived by: his son Warren (Kristina); his grandchild Barrie; his son Hugo; his wife Karen Rae Higginbotham (Benson) of Henryetta; his daughter Barrie (Vincent); his sisters-in-law, Roberta and Carmel; his grandchildren, Ryan (Lauren Higginbotham), Dylan Higginbotham and Cody Byrum; and his great grandchildren, Stella and Caspian. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

“I worked for Leroy for four summers, I think. The man was a deep well of knowledge. He could drive blindfolded to nearly any section corner in Wagoner and Muskogee Counties. I cannot count the number of tattered American Flags we replaced while driving from one job to another. The only days we didn't work were days when he and several other American Legion members served as Color Guard for veterans' funerals. Leroy was devoted to God, his family, and his country. I will miss him.”
