He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Darnell and Loretta Darnell; his granddaughter Emily El-Amoudi; and his brothers, Gary, Richard and Robert.

He is survived by: his wife Kay Darnell; his daughter Kim El-Amoudi of Guymon; his grandchildren, Adam of Denver and Lauren of Guymon; and also Lue Caldwell of San Antonio, Texas..
